How can tenant rent/HAP charges be changed or edited 3-6 months back in AppFolio?

AppFolio User Question: How can tenant rent/HAP charges be changed or edited 3-6 months back.

APM Help answer: If you've sent statements to the owner for those months, I would recommend entering credits or charges as of the current date to adjust the amounts of the previous charges. This would create the most transparency with your owner on the changes occurring with the rent amounts.

If you are an Owner Operator, or do not mind if the past balances change, then you can reapply the receipts paying the past HAP charges to Prepaid Rent by going to the receipt > Reapply Receipt > Check "Make Prepayment". Now you can go to the charge > Edit the amount > Save. The prepaid amount will automatically apply, but you don't want it to apply as a prepayment, so go back to the receipt and reapply it to the new charge amount.

We recommend changing all of the charge amounts before reapplying the receipts back to the correct charges so make it easier.
